Colon City

Lody, lody - am I glad I got out of there.

Now I'm in Darmstadt. I have spent the past 24 hours on trains or in train stations. All the while I have been lugging around my body weight in dirty underwear. I feel a bit like Sisyphus except I'm beginning to think that I am Sisyphus, I am the rock, and I am the hill.

The day before I left the States, I got a coffee in the Old Market. I read this quote on the wall while I was taking a crap on the coffee shop crapper:

"From a certain point onward there is no longer any turning back. That is the point that must be reached."
-Franz Kafka

Wow! You got a job in Germany! In WEST Germany no less. Is it better than the second world?

No country that charges € 1.50 to take a wiz can be considered part of the third world!

Whoops. I meant first world.

That's what happens when you have to pay your toilet washers $12 an hour. It's sick realy.

So are you staying in Germany or heading back to Poland?

I'm back in po'Land. They iz po' here! GDP is like $6,000, yo! Sick!

I'm not sure how long I'll be here. The job prospects aren't the best in June. In September, though, they would probably offer a TEFL position to a three-legged leper pomeranian.
